The Gerber Compact Clearpath is a compact machete. Compact but effective. The 28.5 cm blade is relatively short for a machete. As such it will take up less room when you take it with you in your backpack. The handle is firm and very light-weight. A core of glass reinforced nylon is complemented by a rubber grip. As such this machete will never slip from your hands.

The blade is made from stainless steel. Not incredibly sharp, however, a machete doesn’t have to be razor-sharp. The spine of the blade has been enhanced with a beautiful row of serrations. If you can’t cut through a branch with the machete, you can always use the saw. Gerber indicates that you can use the saw for branches up to 2.5 cm.
