It's undeniable. The circular anodized aluminum handle is the focus of the Remix's minimal design. As lightweight as it is tough, this folding clip knife has a corrosion resistant fine-edge blade that opens with one hand. The handle's o-ring provides stability and grip while cutting.
Why do knife companies apply anthropomorphic names and descriptions to their knives? In our defense, the Spyderco round hole and super sharp edge are reminiscent of eyes and claws. Think cats. Cats represent a highly developed level of predatory resourcefulness, sleek sharp claws and efficiency. Our C129 Cat CLIPIT has a leaf-shaped 440C blade just under two-and-a-half inches in length that is at-ground for hair popping sharpness. Our cat is unique. We aimed for a high pinnacle of cutting adeptness but demanded it be polished and sophisticated in appearance. So, we combined cat-claw sharpness with G-10 handle and Michael Walker LinerLock®. The black G-10 handle is shaped and sized ergonomically with full-length skeletonized liners inside for strength without bulky weight. Spine and choil jimping keep the hand firmly on both blade and handle. A deep silhouette wire clip burrows the knife down deeply in a pant’s pocket with the tip facing up ready to carry left- or right-handed. We believe the anthropomorphic name is appropriate. Descriptions: Just the thing for storing collectible, expensive and easily scratched knives is Spyderco's padded zipper carrying pouch. Seven inches long and three inches wide, the pouch holds a folded pocke knife up to six inches in length. Made of black mock-leather, it's embellished with a gold SpyderBug. All perimeter seams are tightly sewn and edged with a vinyl sizing strip for added security. Inside is plush foam padding with non-scratching black nylon liner. The zipper runs the full length of the pouch for easy access and added security.

The Schempp Rock is, to a degree, an evolution of an earlier Spyderco model called the Rock Salt. A member of our unique Salt line, the Rock Salt was hollow ground from H-1 steel—an extraordinary nitrogen-based steel that is completely impervious to rust. Owners of the original Rock Salt loved them and many of these knives still serve as trusted tools around the globe. However, the additional cost of manufacturing them from H-1 steel put them out of the price range of some potential users. Spyderco therefore decided to produce the design with VG-10 stainless steel, a material that offers exceptional cutting performance, toughness, and corrosion resistance at a more affordable price.
Like Ed Schempp’s original handmade prototype, the Schempp Rock features a skeletonized flat grind that tapers uniformly rom the spine to the cutting edge. This creates a superior balance of strength, mass, and an acute edge geometry that gives the Schempp Rock extreme cutting performance for its size and weight.
One of the most distinctive characteristics of the Schempp Rock is its unique dropped-handle design. The angle between the handle and the blade allows the user’s hand to maintain a strong, natural wrist angle and lowers the blade and cutting edge in relationship to the line of the forearm. This provides enhanced control during cutting, reduces fatigue, and transfers energy more efficiently during chopping motions. The handle features full-tang construction for strength and textured, injection-molded, fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle scales for a secure, comfortable grip.
The ManBug is a uniquely practical folder designed by Spyderco's founder, Sal Glesser. As the founder of the company, Glesser has, through the years, carried virtually every knife Spyderco produced, as well as many prototypes and special models that never went into production. Despite the wide array of knives available to him, the one he carries most often is the Spyderco LadyBug, a small, go-anywhere clipless folder that rides in the pocket.
