Professional divers know that underwater, refraction rules out long ranges. Because of its axial collimator, the LED Lenser D14 .2 diving flashlight attains an amazing strength of focus even at long ranges. The new D14.2 also has a warmer colour spectrum when compared to its predecessor, which creates more natural colours when underwater.Thanks to its unique cooling system, unlike many other diving lights, the D14 flashlight can also be operated on land. Its beam distance when out of water is 200 meters and it is suitable for dives down to 60 meters (197 ft.) 7 bar. Special magnetic parts allow for switch activation without mechanical parts that could corrode over time.

It is estimated that about 70% of flashlights failures can be attributed to corrosion damage caused by battery acid or battery gas. Many lamp manufacturers use cheap contacts, with the result that in the contacts, a large part of the energy is converted into heat (voltage drop) and doesn’t reach the illuminant. So to keep this effect to an absolute minimum Led Lenser has hard gold plated all their conductive contacts to create quality that will last for decades.
